Hi Norma! We're thinking that a little more water would have helped. We've been having some unexpected dry weather here and flour soaks up any moisture it can so it sounds like it just needed a little bit extra to give you a tacky dough. Tacky like a sticky note or piece of tape is ideal. If you used your mixer, it's possible that the dough was over-kneaded. It would have had a torn or shaggy appearance across the surface. If you were kneading by hand, it's pretty impossible to overwork it. Annabelle@KAF
