If you make the compote slightly less sweet and add some lemon juice, you'll be in the business of savory applications, Patricia! A tart-lemony topping will pair perfectly with a whole roasted chicken. Feel free to adjust the sweetness and tartness of the compote by adding more or less sugar/lemon juice, to taste. Happy baking!
