I had been happily baking until I came down with the bug for the last two weeks. I am getting much better and ready to see how my starter fared when I have been isolated in my bedroom... (nobody in my family is willing to feed it, because they are so afraid of killing it. But they have sent me pictures of my starter to my phone, LOL!)

Do I need to discard during every feeding? I wont to have a huge amount of ripe starter for not just bread but also for crumpets. (instance gratification...) Is it ok to keep feeding it to double the volume until I get enough starter for both?
