Not to worry, Diana, every starter is different and takes a different amount of time to get going. If you give it a feeding of whole wheat flour ever once in a while it'll perk things up. We did a blog article on the float test and found that it wasn't helpful so we wouldn't rely on that as far as knowing when your starter is ready or not ready to bake with, but with continued and consistent feedings, your starter will become stronger over time and you'll be baking before you know it!
