Thanks for reaching out to us with your questions, Cyn.

If you haven’t already come across it, you’ll be glad to learn that we outline the components of King Arthur Flour’s Identity Preservation program right on our website, here: http://bit.ly/2dgJ9t6

Working with a small cooperative of farmers, our White Whole Wheat Flour is produced starting with certified seeds that are selected for their superior baking qualities. While an itemized list of requirements that farmers must meet isn’t delineated on our website at this time, our white winter wheat is grown by farmers who are committed to safe production methods and the long term stewardship of the land. The farmers record, track, and monitor their farming practices throughout each growing season.

As you’d referenced, farmers are not permitted to use glyphosate as a pre-harvest application on the white winter wheat our flour is milled from. Our recommendation is that customers with concerns purchase from our full line of 100% organic flours, where the use of synthetic chemicals, including glyphosate, is prohibited.

You won’t be able to find glyphosate on the National List of Approved and Prohibited Substances, because it is an herbicide approved for use by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). Quality Assurance International certifies our organic flours, and that certification requires by law that organic flour cannot be exposed to synthetic chemicals, including glyphosate, during all stages of wheat production.

If we can help answer any additional questions, please feel encouraged to email our friendly team via King Arthur Flour’s email contact tool, at: http://bit.ly/102Uyxt

Kindly,
