I too use a coffee grinder that I have designated for spices. While I don't have the problem of caraway coffee (or whatever it might be), to transition from one spice to another (I do a lot of Indian cooking so freshly ground, toasted spices are a must) I usually grind up some fresh bread which picks up particles and oils from the previous use to give a fairly reliable clean and neutral result.
