Valene, if you happened to measure the flour by volume and scooped your flour into the cup, you may have inadvertently added too much flour to the recipe, causing the dough to be too stiff and not rise well. When measuring flour by volume we recommend this method. If this doesn't sound like what happened with your dough, we'd love to help you troubleshoot this recipe further.
