You're right in thinking that this is a particularly crumbly dough, Michele. If you'd like to try making thumbprint cookies, make sure the butter you use is very soft and also consider adding 1 tablespoon of milk to the dough to loosen things up. This way when you press down into the center, the dough should stay together well enough to make a little well for the jam. Good luck, and happy baking! Kye@KAF
