We're sorry to hear your first bread baking attempt with this recipe was disappointing! The dough can be sticky, particularly if it's been in the refrigerator for several days. This is because as dough ferments for an extended time the dough structure gradually breaks down. You might find the dough a bit easier to work with, and get a better rise, if you bake it a little earlier (say on day 2).
