We're sorry to hear your first crust was a bit over-baked. It's true that if you roll your crust thinner than what's pictured here, it will take less time to brown thoroughly. There's always a chance that your oven may be running hot, the pan you've chosen will heat up quickly, or your baked goods may be thinner than what was used to determine the time in the original recipe.
