Hi Deb! We aren't sure about the exact shape, but if they don't have the high straight sides like a muffin pan, that's likely why things wouldn't rise up quite as readily. Shaping rolls with a nice tight skin as we show in this video is your best bet to getting things to rise upward, along with covering them with something like plastic wrap (loosely, so they can still rise) to keep the moisture inside.
