I am a boomer at 62 and really never liked white bread. Too squishy! But in the 60's and 70's no one heard of whole wheat anything. When I bought James Beard's bread book many years ago I was a fan and started to make my own grainy breads. I bought a bread machine and went wild with different kinds of flavors. Love honey wheat. I am not wild about fennel or pine nuts ...but I'm Italian. I would like to try to use sesame seeds, cranberries and chopped pecans maybe with a little bit of orange zest. Can't wait to try this recipe. Thanks PJ.
