Hi Ruchita, I apologize for the delay in responding to your questions, and hope that your first bread baking attempt went well! If you mean can you use a cast iron Dutch oven to create steam, you certainly could, but I find the steaming pan tends to get a fair amount of abuse so I wouldn't recommend using a pot you cherish for this purpose. You might consider purchasing a designated cast iron pot for adding steam, since the steaming process tends to cause the finish to erode over time. A relatively inexpensive pot such as the one I linked will do the trick, and you won't have to worry about damaging it for other uses. As far as scoring goes, a sharp knife will work fine for straight cuts, just remember to cut quickly and assertively so the blade doesn't drag.
