I have successfully used a Römertopf for my breads and also used a pizza stone with steam. Great bread, but the steam really did a number on my oven. Then it occured to me that I have a large crockpot (minus the actual outer heating element). It has a glass lid. I was wondering if you ever tried to bake bread in pot like that. Would it withstand the high temperature?
