I love the idea that this is a vegan cake that I can make for both vegan and nonvegan friends and not worry about who can and cannot eat it. It's been a favorite in my family for years. known only as "Mom's Chocolate cake". Its nice to know it's history. Congratulations on your 225 birthday.
