Hi Shuby, denseness is very often a sign that too much flour was accidentally added to a recipe, usually because flour was packed into a measuring cup. We recommend measuring ingredients by weight using a kitchen scale. If that isn't an option, we recommend using the fluff, sprinkle, scrape method linked at the bottom of all of our recipes under "How to Measure Flour."
