The comment about the soft filling / frosting getting too soft, when I make my carrot cake, it's a very heavy cake, I put the cream cheese frosting in the freezer for about half an hour, stirring every ten min. until it's about the consistency of peanut butter. It spreads perfect and doesn't squeeze out from between the layers. When it softens it's perfect. This should work perfect for this roll.
