Hi, Sharon! Self-rising flour is only a good substitute for recipes that call exclusively for baking powder, as the flour already contains the full amount of powder that would be used in these types of recipes. Those calling for baking soda in whole or in part are not the best recipes for this type of flour substitution. Happy baking!
