Hi Shelley, I don't think this would necessarily deliver the crisper crust you're looking for because most recipes that create a crispy crust require not only moisture, but a higher baking temperature. The bread machine can only go so high in terms of baking temperature. In addition, the ingredients in a bread recipe contribute to the crust as well, and enriched ingredients like eggs, butter, milk and sugar will tend to create a softer crust.
