When I was in high school, I had the best sugar cookies and chocolate chip cookies! Mrs. Keim made them with rendered chicken fat. No, the cookies didn't taste like chicken! Chicken fat gave the cookies a very velvety texture and a beautiful cream color. She baked them until they were slightly browned on the edge. No timer! Just instinct!
