We use a great sugar cookie recipe that calls for a cup of butter and a cup of vegetable oil - and yes, that does make a ton of cookies! Their only down side is that they cannot be rolled out and cut into special shapes, but are rolled into balls and flattened. We sprinkle them with your coarse sparkling sugars before baking or frost the after baking and then sprinkle with coarse sugar or decorate. They are thin and crispy with a nice sugary mouth feel and great flavor.
