Hi Kim, Personally, I'm not that keen on the foil liners myself. I do find that the sides of the muffins are darker/tougher than I'd like. I have a great collection of paper ones (check out the sale section at your local craft store, especially after a holiday) and find for me they give a better result. ~ MJ
