Interesting approach to baking scones! The KAF apple cinnamon scones are my standby (so easy because I don't have to go buy cream) and I noticed the suggestion that you cut the scones, then keep them close together as they bake. I guess this is just the progression of that method. This is also great for scones with mix ins because they won't burn or stick out of the scones like they do when cut before baking.
