PJ, your comments about Howard Johnson's and coconut made me remember the HoJo just a block away from my grade school, back in the late 1940s. I'd stop there on my walk home (a half hour trek, plenty of time to savor an ice cream cone). Although all those flavors were enticing, my very favorite was coconut ice cream.. No one else had it! And cones were ten cents !!! Glad to see the HoJo emblem -- Simple Simon meeting a Pie Man!! Great memories!
