This is fascinating. This seems to match well with the person who said extra oil/butter makes for the shiny crackly top! Which indicates to me that there is a drying out issue. BUT, this doesn’t seem to fit with the Ina Garten recipe user whose brownies got the result from sitting in the fridge overnight! One would think that such a batter would “dry out.” The comments in this thread are fascinating!
