Can dough that is too cold prevent it from spreading? I always chill my cookies for about 24 hours, often in balls. I like them cakey but more often than not, they end up too thick. It sounds like that is not a problem for people who go from freezer to oven, which is VERY cold, but I've seen some comments that they still spread too much.
