Unless you have extremely strong hands & wrists as well as lots of time, I strongly suggest that you scoop your cookies before putting them in the fridge. Trying to scoop cold cookie dough made with butter was a painful, slow process for me. Now I always scoop first! (You can crowd them together to put them in the fridge or freezer - just don’t bake them that way!)
