Amanda, while we haven't tried this before, you can try melting about 1/2 cup of sugar with some of the non-dairy milk, then let it come to room temperature before adding it to the ice cream maker. You could also consider making a simple syrup, which is equal parts sugar and water and then adding that to the non-dairy milk base. The latter option may give you a more pleasant texture in the ice cream, as the granulated sugar may harden once added to the machine. If you give it a try, be sure to share your results with us.
