I keep my dried powdered starter in the freezer with no issues. I just revived some after a 5+ year hiatus in a double Ziploc'd bag in the deep freeze.. It took about a week to really get it vibrant and bubbly, but I could use it to bake after 4 days of daily feeding I am sure. I am confident that even frozen wet starter or dough would work, but I have never tried that.
