Hi Judith, you will have to use a receipe that is meant to incorporate a starter. You won't just be able to substitute yeast in a recipe for X amount of starter. This website has some nice sourdough recipes. Keep in mind, due to the fermentation of the dough, these recipes will most likely take a lot longer than baking with actice dry packet yeast.
