I dehydrated some discard starter 4 years ago, using this method. I kept half and gave the other half to my son. He let his starter die months ago, but wanted to bake again. So, hoping he could resurrect the zombie starter from the grave, he followed these instructions. After two days, lo and behold... fresh and lively starter. IT'S ALIVE!!! He's baking a couple of loaves tomorrow... fingers crossed. Glad I found this blog.
