I'm a newbie to drying sourdough starter. Would it be all right to dry it in a dehydrator? What temperature should the oven or dehydrator be to know that the the starter is drying, but not being killed? My oven light seems to put out quite a lot of heat, so I can check it before I put my starter in it for a long period of time.
Finally, do I put a cover (i.e. parchment paper) on top of the drying starter or leave it uncovered while drying?
