Hi Ngan, some recipes do call for melting the butter (as in our Fudge Brownie recipe). In this recipe the melted butter helps dissolve the sugar and can contribute to a shiny crust. When the baking instructions call for melting the butter, you're not really creaming, but I would still follow the directions as written.
