When I was growing up in the 1940-50's, we often visited my grandmother on Cape Cod. In Falmouth Mass, there was a bakery that always made Portuguese Sweet Bread. If you got there early enough in the morning you got some, otherwise you waited to try again the next day. I don't know if it is still there or not, it was there at least until 1987. It was located on the corner of Marivista Ave and Route 28. and I don't remember the name of it. BUT, they used to make the most delicious Portuguese Sweet Bread that I have ever tasted.
