Laurie, you're exactly right — the perfect degree of doneness is a very personal preference when it comes to cookies, so we recommend checking early and often until you figure out just the right combination of time and scoop size. The 1/4 cup scoop does make a jumbo cookie — some stiff doughs may not spread very much during baking, so we recommend wetting your fingers and pressing down on the top of the scoops to flatten them slightly.
