Ditto on the leftie issue! One leftie child taught me that Kitchen tools MUST be both-handed! I found high quality all metal scoops suitable for either hand at my Publix supermarket, and they are just like these: http://www.amazon.com/Norpro-Stainless-Steel-Cookie-Scoop/dp/B0002MPTUM Kitchen tools MUST be both-handed! I love scoops like these and use them for portioning batter, dough, meatballs of either dinner size or cocktail size, ice cream, and anything else that I want a perfect, pretty portion for! I scoop stuffing into muffin tins to bake individual portions, and I scoop balls of stuffing to freeze in bags because it is much faster and easier to bake extras when we want them. I scoop drop biscuit dough for cheddar-garlic biscuits, too. Scoop coleslaw and potato salad into single serving sizes and maybe neatly into a lettuce cup or silicone cupcake cup for lunchboxes or a single serving dish for picnics or dinner at home. It makes you look like a pro. It's portion control for dieters, also. Serving large numbers? Dish it out in pre-planned sizes via scoops. Once you figure out that a scoop can help with MANY chores, you'll use it almost daily, and in a variety of sizes, but two are an absolute must. They keep your hands clean, too. Get the best quality you can find - preferably all-stainless, heavy duty, and pay a little more for quality.
