Why not talk about the more standardized disher? Most people refer to these as "ice cream scoops," but go into any restaurant supply store or retail kitchen store and you'll find dishers. They are all numbered based on size so there is no confusion. A #20 disher will always be a #20 disher across all brands. Its frustrating for recipes to state "medium cookie scoop" or "small muffin scoop" when there is no standardization across retail brands. Dishers, on the other hand, are all standardized. I wish more recipes were written with this in mind!
