I've discarded two scoops over the years because both would jump their gears so the wire would stick out above the bowl when in the "resting" position. VERY hard to repair. Additionally, the dough sticks in the scoop and it's very hard to get out. ALSO I have the left-handed thing working against me. So I say to heck with scoops. Two spoons is fast, easy, not sticky, and my cookies are shaped beautifully.
