Haven't used spoons in years. I taught culinary arts and baking for high school and college students. When serving or offering cookies using spoons the cookies aren't uniform and students want the biggest cookie. Scooping solves this and the cookies are pretty much the same size. It's the same when offering cookies to anyone, we all want the same size.
