When did "bread flour" become available for the home baker? None of my 1950s - 1960s cookbooks use this term as an ingredient in making bread. I have memories of my mom's bread, fresh out of the oven, waiting on the counter for us to come home from school and slather it with butter. Yummmm! She also used "cake" yeast. Did that make a difference?
