Mape

I have found a very easy way to make steel cut oatmeal. I recently purchased a mini crock pot. I make my steel cut oatmeal in the evening in my crock pot. I spry the inside of my crock pot with with buttery spray(makes cleanup easy), then add 3 cups cold water or apple juice, and one cup of steel cut oats, plug it in on low and let it cook overnight. It is ready in the morning, and it is such a treat! I put the leftover oatmeal in the fridge and heat next morning in the microwave. Just a little old time trivia, i.e., my grandfather loved cooked cornmeal for breakfast. Any leftover cornmeal was fried for supper with either gravy or maple syrup for topping.
