Real "Slovak Paska" seems to go by many names. My maternal roots come from what we know today as Slovakia near the Polish border. We called the Easter bread "Paska" but I have learned over the years that it's more like the Polish Babka. My wife of many decades was horrified when she first saw me build an open face sandwich of Paska/Babka and kielbasa lathered with beet horseradish as hot as I could stand it. I'm going to post on the Community recipe board Grandma Kosko's version of our Easter bread passed down to my mother and updated by me. Warning: this version is labor intensive so it's not for the feint of heart. It's the memories that sustain me as I hand knead the dough and work in the golden raisins that refuse to stay put.
