I have a 10" square cast iron skillet. I followed the recipe exactly to the best of my ability, and it baked much faster. It finished in just 25 minutes, and was a little overdone. Two problems: (1) I set the oven to Preheat, waited 20 minutes, put the cake in, and forgot to change the oven off of preheat! I wonder what, if any, effect that has on baking a cake. Some of the research I did on line told me that the oven behaves in the normal manner once it reaches the preheat temperature. I.e., baking it on Preheat has no affect. Can you confirm that? I am very curious. (2) I would like to adapt the recipe to my 10" square. I love the cake but I want a thicker excellent result! Many thanks. It's such a wonderful recipe!
