I have an older Zojirushi Supreme, not a Virtuoso, and I also only use the Quick Setting, Light Crust. I do find that the top is wonderfully soft but the sides are a bit hard, while it's cooling. I put it into a zipped plastic bag, after it cools, and the sides become softer.
