We're sorry to hear your machine has been giving you trouble, Margaret. We highly recommend calling Morphy Richards as they may be able to troubleshoot what the machine is doing. You can also check our Bread Machine FAQ's anytime you have a general bread machine question. There is no one bake time for bread as it would depend on the type of bread and what temperature it's set to. Just looking at a basic sandwich bread recipe it bakes at 350°F for 35 to 40 minutes or until the internal temperature reads 195°F on a digital thermometer. A call to the manufacturer and a little experimentation and you should have yummy fresh bread in no time! Annabelle@KAF
