Tonight I made Doris' biscuits. I checked this blog for the oven temperature before starting. The biscuits cooked about 16 minutes. They were okay, but far from the best we'd ever had. My husband was so unimpressed that he wanted the rest of them thrown out. He wasn't going to eat them. And I don't need to eat a half recipe of biscuits myself! I actually think following the Bisquik recipe on the box, which is what I usually do, was better. But I had butter milk that I didn't want to spoil, and decided to make them from scratch. Maybe I'll try my Mother's recipe (from scratch) that uses buttermilk next time. At the very least we were disappointed.
