Wow! Fun story. Thank you, Doris, and thank you PJ! I went through a similar process of "working on" a recipe from my childhood: special orange and chocolate chip cookies that were always awaiting my big brother and I when we arrived at our Grandmother's house every summer for an extended visit (halfway across the country from our home). These cookies have been "the" special treat in our families ever since. As an adult (engineer) who became interested in baking, I've enjoyed running my own experiments on making changes. None have failed, and some have been rated that elusive category: "the *best*!!" Nothing like having delicious connections to the past and present, and engaging our senses and minds all at once. Yeah for baking! Yeah for KA enabling us! KA products and resources is how I became interested in baking in the first place -- thank you for taking up Doris' fun challenge, posting the results for us to enjoy, and, in fact, for all that you do for all of us!
