Don't give up, Janet! We're here to help. It sounds you might want to try reading the article on our blog called, "My Bread Didn't Rise." It covers the most common reasons why dough doesn't rise either initially or once it's in the pan. To give you a little preview, this can happen because there's too much flour added to the dough, it's not kneaded the right amount, the yeast isn't fresh or not the right kind, the temperature is too cold/too hot, the loaf pan isn't the right size, or the dough isn't shaped properly.
