Trisha, I'd characterize the taste as mildly chocolate - like milk chocolate, rather than dark. The walnuts are a nice contrast. Their texture is thin/chewy, rather than dense/fudgy or cake-like. So it's not quite what we're used to; I'd call these more "spare," but still very nice; I certainly wouldn't turn one down! PJH
