My mom has been making this for almost 40 years. The recipe came with our first microwave in the early 80s. My mom's signature move is to grease the outside of a small/medium pyrex bowl, invert it, then pour the brittle down over it and let cool. This makes a cute little edible "candy dish" with a ruffled edge. Once cooled, she'd flip it over and fill with a variety of fudge and other candy she'd made, then wrap the whole thing in pretty cellophane. Then proceed to give bowls to our teachers, neighbors, mailman, etc etc etc. Thanks for posting this recipe and bringing the memories back.
